Here are some more pictures from San Angelo (present), and Central High School (past and present).

This is the dam at Lake Nasworthy in San Angelo. This is the oldest of the three lakes in San Angelo (all man-made). The lake is named after John Nasworthy, one of the early settlers in the Concho Valley. The lake was created back in the 1930's. The other lakes are O.C. Fisher, now known as San Angelo State Park, and Twin Buttes, which is dry, since the Army Corps of Engineers discovered that the dam leaks. San Angelo once won a Fickle Finger of Fate award from Rowan and Martin's Laugh In. The city built a pipeline from one dry lake (O.C. Fisher) to another in Robert Lee. San Angelo won another Fickle when Fisher burned (seriously, this really happened!) Such is the life in West Texas.

What is a city without controversy. This lovely lady was added to the Concho River riverwalk near downtown a few years back, and created quite a stir, when someone discovered that she was top-free. The purist won out, and the mermaid stays. Now she will oversee the newest edition to San Angelo, the Mercado, whre the Reunion picnic will be held.
A bit of a historical note... the Mermaid was designed by the mother of a 1976 Central grad. Brandon Beck's (Most Handsome, 1976) mother was the designer. She died of cancer a few years back.

This is Kim and Donna. Or is it Donna and Kim? Actually it is Kim Favre and Donna Davis modeling shirts from 'the book house' on Avenue N, just off the Angelo State University campus. This was from an advertisement in the Yearbook ("The 1976 Westerner")

This was a favorite pasttime, other than going to class. Many of us would balance as many pennies as we could on our arm, and attempt to catch them before they hit the ground. This fellow was one of the best at this game of skill. What was the record? 73 pennies, we think.
